As the Director of Eogogics’s Performance Enhancement Services, Carol Erdman heads up the team responsible for professional/management training development and delivery, leadership coaching, and human capital management consultancy. She is also our principal learning architect, in charge of assessment and training design and train-the-trainer functions.

Carol offers a Master’s in Instructional Systems Design (ISD) along with 20 years of experience in performance technology, training development and delivery, meeting facilitation, performance improvement studies, teambuilding, strategic and operational planning, organizational development, and change management. Her training and performance coaching/consulting experience builds on a broad base of Human Resources expertise that includes employee and labor relations, labor contract negotiations, compensation and benefits, recruiting and retention, affirmative action, and diversity management. She is among the few who combine the ability to answer complex technical/regulatory questions with seasoned facilitation skills, uplifting examples, and humor that make learning meaningful and fun.

Carol is a dynamic speaker, who motivates and inspires as she teaches skills vital to professional and management success. She has delivered thousands of sessions ranging from a one hour in-service program for a small department to a two year progressive training program for a medical center of 5000 employees. She has also facilitated project planning, strategic planning, and mid-year (“are we on track?”) planning retreats for a number of organizations. She is as comfortable providing one-to-one consulting as she is, presenting to hundreds. She has helped organizations set direction and create plans to bring about the changes necessary to keep pace with the changing internal and external forces. She has worked with corporations such as Verizon, Honeywell, SRA, Crown Castle International, Vector Security, Visa International, Security Benefit, Choice Hotels, and Virginia Tech University. She has also designed and developed a comprehensive leadership development program for the top and executive level managers with the IRS, the Senior Leadership Development Program for USDA, Forest Service, and the Government Printing Office.

Carol has designed and delivered over 100 different professional and leadership development programs including Leadership Development, Leading Change, Strategic Thinking, Conflict Management, Coaching and Feedback, Negotiation Skills, Ensuring a Respectful Workplace, Valuing Diversity, Stress Management, Time and Priority Management, Sexual Harassment, Presentations and Briefings Skills, Performance Management Systems, and more.

Well grounded in adult learning theory, her courses combine assessment tools, facilitated group discussion, and job-aids that participants can begin using upon return to their jobs. “This changes training from a one-time learning event to an ongoing process that weaves improved ways of doing business right into the employee’s work routine,” she says.

As an executive coach for the last eight years, Carol’s clients include CEO’s, COO’s, Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers and participants in leadership development programs. She has coached for large companies as well as Government agencies including Visa International, Capital Financial Group, Senior Service America, and the USDA Forest Service. Carol has also developed coaching programs and trained more than 200 people in the tools and skills of coaching.

Carol received a master’s degree in Human Performance Technology (HPT) from the University of Maryland. She has presented at Sylvan Learning’s Annual Conference, UMBC Lecture Series, SWALES, Crown Castle’s leadership conferences, Department of Energy, and the US Army. She is also an adjunct faculty member at UMBC, teaching graduate level courses, Human Performance Improvement and Performance Consulting in the ISD Program as well as an undergraduate course on ISD Principles. Carol is certified to teach MBTI, DiSC, Thomas Killman Conflict Inventory, and Gregorc Learning Styles indicator.
