Eogogics rolls out a full suite of RF safety services including assessment, planning and training per FCC/OSHA guidelines. Training includes web-based live and onsite courses. WASHINGTON/Sept. 11, 2007 — Eogogics Inc., a leader in telecommunications, IT, and soft skill training and services, today announced the availability of a full suite of services to help organizations involved with Radio Frequency (RF) work implement processes and training that ensure the safety of their personnel from the harmful effects of RF radiation in compliance with the FCC and OSHA guidelines. The Eogogics RF Safety Program is headed by Richard Strickland, the inventor of the Narda personal radiation monitor (who was honored with the R&D 100 award for this work) and one of a handful of FCC-recommended experts on RF safety practices. “RF engineers and technicians, while generally more aware of the dangers of RF exposure, are often not as well trained on the radiation safety practices as they should be. There is also a whole range of nontechnical personnel, such as the real-estate professionals involved with wireless site acquisition activities, who may not even be fully aware of the risks of RF exposure,” said KK Arora, the President of Eogogics Inc.
The Eogogics RF safety programs include RF safety surveys and reviews, development of corporate RF safety processes, and RF safety training for a variety of audiences on subjects ranging from basic RF safety awareness to in-depth review of RF safety for specific applications. These programs are aimed at broadcasters, wireless operators, wireless tower companies, wireless OEMs, wireless equipment installation companies, government and military radio installations, real-estate companies involved with wireless site acquisition, and others whose personnel work at/near or visit antenna towers or rooftop antenna installations. Included are:
- Consultation to assess the types and levels of RF exposure hazards presented to the various workforce segments and develop an effective plan to mitigate and deal with those hazards in compliance with the applicable government and industry standards.
- A half-day course for the organizational leaders responsible for ensuring the safety of their personnel, including the senior managers in charge of human resources, occupational safety, engineering and operations, and general counsel’s office. This course, normally taught onsite at the client site, can be conveniently combined with a consulting session aimed at assessing corporate RF-safety readiness and developing an RF safety plan.
- A half-day webinar, complete with testing and certification, for engineers and technicians who work at or near antenna towers. Most organizations whose employees come in steady contact with RF sites require that those with the potential for RF exposure take and pass an RF safety course each year to demonstrate compliance with the federal guidelines. Clients may also have this seminar suit-cased for presentation at their offices.
- A 90-minute course for real-estate professionals who occasionally visit rooftop antenna sites can be scheduled on demand and taught live on the worldwide web.
“While RF safety training is currently available as CD-based self-paced courses, we believe that there is a market for live, instructor-led classes taught by an RF safety expert. While providing superior, interactive instruction, our classes are priced to be quite competitive with the CD-based classes,” continued KK Arora. “For those interested in implementing companywide programs, we also offer volume training at very low per-person prices.” he added.
